The challenge

Vibras is a SaaS business that developed an all-in-one management platform for home contractors. Within the platform, contractors can manage everything from leads and proposals to job scheduling and invoices.

Vibras faced the challenge of low engagement when introducing their platform to prospects due to its many features and overall comprehensiveness. To address this, Vibras approached us for an animated video that would capture attention with visuals while effectively communicating the platform’s many benefits. The final call to action encourages prospects to sign up for a free 30-day trial and experience the platform firsthand.

Platform

Zeroing In on What Makes Vibras Different

During the research phase, we had an online meeting with the client to learn more about the platform’s main unique selling point: its comprehensiveness, which currently isn’t available on the market. While other platforms focus on one or several features, Vibras offers full-scale functionality tailored specifically to home contractors. This was a key aspect, as the video needed to be concise (35-40 seconds long), yet clearly communicate this uniqueness.

After several discussions and revisions with the client, we finalized a script that highlights the platform’s comprehensiveness and extensive features while emphasizing ease of use. The second part of the video focuses on the AI capabilities, a feature that sets Vibras apart from competitors. The AI is integrated into the platform to streamline all operations. The video concludes with a call to action, encouraging viewers to sign up for a free 30-day trial.

Bringing the video to life with a voiceover and animations

The voiceover was crucial because the animation and music needed to be synchronized with it; otherwise, the video would feel all over the place. Initially, Vibras wanted a male voiceover, but after discussions and presenting samples from various male and female artists, they opted for a female voiceover. For the tone, we suggested a conversational, mellow style, as it’s generally easier to listen to in explainer videos. For the background music, we chose a slow, mellow track that complements the voiceover without overshadowing it.

As for the visuals, since this was a 2D animated video, the format didn’t allow for highly advanced animations. Instead, we focused on custom-drawing all the elements and characters, and paid special attention to details. For instance, the attires were modeled after those worn by real contractors, and the main character was inspired by Vibras’ business owner. Another example was lowering the stack of papers as the video progressed, symbolizing how Vibras eliminates the need for contractors to handle piles of documents. These small details added depth and enhanced the overall visual appeal.

Process

By thoroughly planning each step of the process in advance, we successfully produced the entire video within six weeks, including time for client feedback and revisions. We regularly updated the Vibras team on our progress to ensure optimal results.

We began with a comprehensive research phase, which helped uncover the key differentiating factors. This set the video production process on the right track, allowing us to finalize the script and create detailed visual descriptions for each scene.

Based on the scene descriptions, our illustrator custom-drew each scene, ensuring alignment with Vibras’ branding – specifically, the brand colors, fonts, and visual style. Simultaneously, we collaborated with the voiceover artist to finalize the voiceover, a crucial step for progressing to the next stage.

In the final stage, it was time to bring everything together and animate the video. The biggest challenge was synchronizing each element to fit the narrative seamlessly, but this was achieved successfully.

Effectively Highlighting Key Differentiators to Drive More Sign-Ups for Vibras

The vision for this project was clear, yet the path to achieve it was initially uncertain. However, thanks to the extensive research conducted at the beginning, we identified the best approach: focusing on the two main differentiating factors that set Vibras apart – the platform’s comprehensiveness (while remaining user-friendly) and its AI capabilities, which were highly attractive to prospects at the time.

With the video now produced and finalized, it is embedded on Vibras’ website and used in cold email and LinkedIn outreach campaigns to effectively convey the platform’s uniqueness, resulting in increased sign-ups.

Outgrow was tasked to create a 30sec marketing video for our new product. They absolutely crushed it and delivered a high quality video that is straight to the point, visually appealing, and was done fast. I was impressed by the quality of the video and the communication.
